Adult Gymnastics Summer Camp

CAPTivate is hosting our first ever adult gymnastics summer camp from July 5-7 in Tawatinaw, Alberta (near Edmonton) at Pine Valley Gym, which boasts a full set of all 8 artistic gymnastics events, plus a full set of T&T equipment (including 2 in-ground trampolines bordering a foam pit), as well as two full 40x40 sprung floors. The camp includes 12 hours of coached gymnastics, and you can choose from the following styles of gymnastics:

  • Artistic Gymnastics (all 8 events)

  • Advanced Artistic Gymnastics,

  • Trampoline & Tumbling, or

  • Acro & Tumbling.

The prerequisites for the Advanced group are a kip, a roundoff back handspring and a front handspring vault with a beatbord.

What To Expect

All of the following are included in the price:

  • 2 nights of hostel-style accommodations (1 person per bed, 2+ beds per room, shared bathroom and shower facilities. Bedding and towels are not provided. You can make roommate requests.) 

  • 4 catered hot meals (Friday dinner, Saturday lunch & dinner, Sunday lunch)

  • 12 hours of coached gymnastics

  • 1.5 hours optional open gym with coaches onsite

  • 1 hour optional circus workshop

  • 1 hour optional restorative yoga

  • social activities

  • a camp tank top

  • camp insurance

For all of the above, the cost is $489+gst. Payment plans are accepted, with the default payment plan being half at the time of registration and half on June 15.

Add-ons:

  • For private accommodations (one double bed, private room, shared bathrooms and shower facilities), add $80+gst. 

  • For childcare (ages 18 months to 10 years), the cost is $8/hour/kid. Childcare is available only for the 12 hours of coached gymnastics instruction. Spots are limited.

Sunday July 7

Coaches may be added, subtracted, or shuffled between disciplines based on registration numbers. One artistic group may be scheduled only on the traditionally "men's artistic" events, if enough people request that, and a MAG-specific coach would be added to the coaching list.

Pricing for Non-Gymnasts

  • For ages 0-2, who do not require a bed: FREE. Includes food.

  • For ages 2-5, who require a bed: $80+gst. Includes a single bed and food.

  • For ages 6-adult, $210+gst. Includes a single/double/bunk bed and food.

  • For adults who wish to share a double bed with a registered gymnast: $130. Includes food only. (We require the gymnast to upgrade to a private accommodation if sharing a bed, unless kids are involved or all adult roommates consent to this arrangement.)

  • To participate in the 1.5 hours of family open gym, the cost is $15+gst for ages walking to adult.

Winter Camp 2024

  • The CAPTivate 2024 Winter Camp will be Dec 27-29, tentatively in Canmore. The closest airport is Calgary (YYC) and we can help our out-of-town friends find a ride from the airport to Canmore. Note that accommodations and meals are not provided at the winter camp.

  • Registration will open in November so check back at that time.
